How I practiced track standing over the last ~4 years: I rode my bike almost daily and attempted to track stand on every traffic light without caring about the embarrassment falls/near-falls cause.
I showed off some of my cubing skills to an (overly :D) enthusiastic crowd of jugglers:
They really loved it! I taught only two people how to solve one afterwards, though. But hopefully I've inspired many more. :)
(At 0:54 there are a few missing frames. I promise: I neither dropped nor...
Hey!
Since I make great use of mark2 for Cubemania, I'd like to give something back to the community:
I spent my entire Saturday hacking on a small library which provides access to the Stackmat timer from within JavaScript (no Flash or Java required!). This is done by using the HTML5 Web Audio...
Newest Update for Cubemania
New Chart
It displays all* your solves since you started using Cubemania on a time scaled graph.
You can decide whether your times should be grouped by day, month or year.
Comparisons with your cubing friends/enemies are now much more meaningful...
The Czech Open 2011 will take place on July 15-17, 2011 in Pardubice, Czech Republic. Check out the Czech Open 2011 website for more information.
I've only heard great things about Czech Open, so i decided to join the fun this year. However, i haven't booked a room yet. Do you have any...
Hi guys,
we are currently developing a new feature for Cubemania called "Matches". It works the following: You challenge another cuber, choose a puzzle and submit your times. Once the other cuber has also submitted his times, you both get points depending on how fast you were and what points...
Hi,
does anyone know a place where i can order a lot of decent(!) cubes (at least 1000)? I don't need the best speed cubes ever, but i also don't want crappy cubes which you can't turn without much force.
Thanks,
Tim
I had to write a sq-1 scrambler for cubemania, but couldn't find anyone on the web. Except for Jaap's Javascript scrambler. I first tried to convert his scrambler, but it was so boring and didn't make fun at all. So i wrote my own one.
i use up_layer and down_layer for the two layers and both...

If you find any...
Since Kai told me, i should record a sub-10 4 cubes bld, here it is ;).
Memo was about 5:10-5:20.
Since i don't have such a cool blindfold as Dennis, i had to compensate this with a stuffed animal ;)
After Lucas mentioned using r2 for big cubes centers, i gave it a try and it seems to work quite good.
A short overview:
Buffer: Dfr
Target: Ubr
Algorithm to swap buffer and target: r2
two small examples:
Shooting at Rdf: (b' R' b) r2 (b' R b)
Shooting at Ldf: (b L2 b') r2 (b L2 b')...
I solved 12 cubes blindfolded in 36:38.91 minutes. Not as fast as my first attempt, but i'm happy, that i finished it and got it on tape :).
Memo was about 20/21 minutes.
Part 1:
Part 2:
Anyone interested in the memorization part?
wasn't as fast as i hoped for, but i'm quite satisfied with the result.
some facts:
Memorization / Execution
Cube 1: 1:13 min / 1:30 min
Cube 2: 1:35 min / 1:17 min
Cube 3: 1:28 min / 1:03 min
Cube 4: 1:37 min / 1:07 min
Total: 5:56 min / 5:01 min
Hi,
i wonder, how fast you guys can memorize a 4x4? And how long the centers/edges take to memorize.
I started to try big cubes blindfolded right after my 6 cubes multi bld attempt two days ago. I still have to create a memo system for the centers and learn how to solve them :).
I tried to...
