Optimal 3x3x3 solvers, Korf and Kociemba questions

If you can solve the corners in x moves, most of the time you could also solve them with x+1, or x+2, or ... There are obviously some exceptions. For instance If the solution for the corners only take 1 move like U, you can't solve the corners in 2 moves. You also can't solve them with 3 or 4...

How do optimal solvers and random state scramblers work?

Not so sure if you still have an equal distribution of CO/CP, if you scramble it again in the EO/EP phase.

How do optimal solvers and random state scramblers work?

EO and EP can only be solved in <= 14 moves every time, if we don't care about the state of the corners. and CO and CP can only be solved in <= 11 moves every time, if we don't care about the state of the edges. So you will very likely mess up the corners again, when you apply a <= 14...

[WR] Rami Sbahi - 0.58 2x2 Single and 1.55 Average

Actually Christian Kaserer (the single world record holder) was the first person who got the scramble (source: probably the 2x2 WR record thread, too lazy to look it up). If you look at his video, you can see his baffled face. He thought, that he got a wrongly scrambled cube. All the other...

[Czech NR] Lukas Pohořelický 7.76 3x3 single

All the other finalists are waiting outside the room. Each of the finalists does 5 solves in a row. It's not the best format (since there are quite long pauses between solves), but it works. It is done this way, because space is very limited in this venue. It would be quite a jam, if there are...

You can solve each step of Roux with Just another Rubik's Cube Solver (http://laire.fi/jarcs). But not the first two blocks at the same time together. Otherwise use Cube Explorer (http://kociemba.org/cube.html). Check out this video, if you have problems with Cube EXplorer...
