Ok, i was taking a math quiz, and here was a question

Simplify Completely
---------------------------------------
n^6/n^10

I answered, 3/5.

Aparently the correct answer was 1/n^4

Can someone please explain this to me?

Yep. When it is a fraction of powers, you subtract the exponents. 6-10 is -4. So n^-4 is the same as 1/n^4 . You move the negative exponents to the denominator to make them positive.
