So I made this slice cube. It turned out really well. I was inspired to make it from Nathan Wilson's video. This mod was good practice for extending pieces.
So for those who don't know, this is basically a fisher's cube which has been "fishered" again on another axis.
I made this hexagonal skewb mod. I'm pretty sure that I'm the first person to make this, but please let me know if I'm not. If I'm first, that gives me naming rights, so I'd call it a "Hexaskewb". Unless that name's already taken, in which case I'll have to come up with something else. Anyway...
So I made this 3x3x1 from a guanlong as an entry to making cuboids. I think it turned out pretty well.
Here are some photos of it stickered:
Let me know what you think!
Ooh, thanks for the tip.
In this mod, though, I think the reason that it's so rough is because i cut too far in to start with. I've made a 5x5 and 7x7 barrel as well, and I had to cut pretty far in to make it a good barrel shape. I assumed it would be the same with the 4x4, but it seems it...
Thanks! I'll probably sticker it like in the picture. I'm a bit delayed in making this because I dropped the puzzle and snapped two of the centre pieces, so I need to buy a new guanlong :(
If you want to get into modding proper, you'l need a saw of some sort that can cut plastic, sandpaper, epoxy, spray paint and sticker material. You'll probably also need superglue and possibly a knife. Of course, if you want to get into modding further than this you could buy a dremel or a belt...
That's nearly what I'm thinking of. Just remove the octagonal barreling from one axis and thats what my idea is. I've started building it at this point, so I'll post some pictures of it so far:
So the other day I was thinking about what to do with my spare Guanlong and I had the idea for an interesting mod. I have no idea if this mod has been done before or what it would be called if it has, but the idea is similar to a barrel. What I would do is make a 3x3 barrel one one axis and then...
