When I first started cubing, I was slower when I was being judged at a comp. Now, I seem to do pretty well on the stage, although my best solves are done off-stage. Maybe I got used to solving in front of people. IDK. Anyone else experience this?

I updated my original post. Magnetizing went well despite the size.

Today I bought a Dayan 2x2 off a kid who thought it was an old plastic Dayan 2x2 that had the screws replaced with the newer silver screws. I don't have another one to compare it to. How can I tell if it's a new plastic or old plastic just by looking at it, but without taking the screws into...

@DMCubing yes I am using your video as a guide, but I don't have those exact magnets. I have others that are slightly stronger, and I think the ratio would still be good. Thanks for all your great videos!

Cool. That helps tremendously. Ok, so my calculations put me at a choice between either a 77% or 87%. If you're saying the distance is slightly greater in the outer layers, then I'll probably go with 87%, which would match up with your 92% from your earlier post (vice 75% from your recent...

I saw another post you made about the WuShuang that said you used 4x2 N35 (stronger than 4x1.5 N38) on the outer layers. You said the balance between outer and inner were good. Which do you think would be a better balance for the outer layers when using 4x2 N38 on the inner layers? 4x1.5 N38...

well, how about, if they are a sub 15 solver, they can buy as many sub-15 coins as they want, especially if they change the design from year to year. i know i would want to get a new one if they made an updated version. just a thought.

If the WCA had a merch store, they could sell these there for people who have a profile that says they have achieved that accomplishment. then just have them mailed after the fact instead of receiving them on the spot at the competition.
