Brands/makes of cube dimensions 4x4x4 and above.

4x4x4

There are ten major brands of 4x4x4 cubes used by speedcubers.

• Rubik's Revenge
• Eastsheen 4x4x4
• Meffert's 4x4x4
• QJ 4x4x4
• Maru 4x4x4
• X-Cube 4x4x4
• Dayan+MF8 4x4x4
• Shengshou 4x4x4
• Ghosthand 4x4x4
• Lanlan 4x4x4

However, the Rubik's Revenge 4x4x4 cube, manufactured by the Rubik's company, was the best 4x4x4 in 2008 but then they changed the mechanism making it worse. Almost everybody started to use The Eastsheen or the Meffert's cube. The DaYan+MF8 cube is probably the most popular cube today.

5x5x5

Until recently, there were two major brands of 5x5x5, but the V-cube brand has made its way into the speedcubing community by providing an extremely good 5x5x5 which is almost unanimously considered the best brand by far for people who are willing to do time-consuming mods. If you want a good 5x5 straight out of the box, then you would be better off with the Shengshou brand. The following brands are available in 5x5x5 cubes:

• Ghosthand 5x5x5 (Otherwise known as ShenShou)
