There are two main methods for master magic:

• The Pochmann method, forever immortalized in his awesome tutorial video [1]. This used to be the best known method; not the fastest way to go, but you can definitely get under 3 seconds with this. There are ways to optimize it a little beyond this video. The hemlet and song are not optional.
• The Ooms method, which is shown slowly in [2]. This method can be very fast but it's a bit trickier than Pochmann and you need a good puzzle to do it properly. Pretty much all of the solves under 2 seconds will be with this method (regular or mirrored), for example [3]. The biggest advantage of this method over the Pochmann one is that you don't need to sing the song.
