is POM coating possible?

so since CT had the coating technology improved, I think this can be done now.
As we all know, cubes are made of ABS plastic, which is cheaper and easier to break in, the cube we use very often will eventually die out because the inner structure of the cube is different from that of a new one. However, some expensive plastic (e.g. POM/PBT plastic) can stay a bit longer, but will make the cube hard to break in. The solution I am thinking of is that we break in the cube, coat it with a harder plastic, coat it with softer texture (just to make the feeling better), re-setup, and it's all done. Is that possible?
oh and this is my first post here, if I had make any mistakes, please tell me.
