Hey guys! Looking for tips, thoughts, constructive criticism.

Sorry about how this video was filmed, I wasn't expecting to put it onto youtube but I made the video and thought, "What the heck, Why not get some advice?"

So I put it up and now here we are.

I originally just wanted to see the T perm and if it worked but then decided to solve. So that beginning is me seeing how it looked.

Yes I stick my tongue out when I solve.

Cube is a Dayan Zhanchi.

To re-constructors, if you would reconstruct I would be oh so grateful.

Pretty sure this is the scramble, might be off by a move or two.

Thanks! Please feel free to comment!

Hi,

I am not good at reconstruction, but I am looking at times you used for the different steps:
2s cross
17s F2L pairs
5s OLL
3s PLL

You may want to go slower during your F2L pairs and try to get a better look ahead. A typical example where your look ahead is not so good is between your first and second F2L pair in this video (0:44 to 0:47, ie 3s lost).

Good luck !

Thanks so much guys, yeah I guess Improving F2l Lookahead is a good place to start on time improvement.

I'll probably learn a few f2l algs. Right now its totally intuitive. A few algs on the harder cases could improve my times.

EDIT: Facepalm at the end of my OLL too. I accidentally went the wrong way with the R.

No, don't learn any F2L algs, just keep practicing and be more efficient like you can see with your second and fourth F2L pairs. Try eliminating any pause from your solves. Only learn F2L algs for cases that you use too many moves on.

wut.

Definitely learn some f2l algs, I'd recommend these to start.

Setup : R U R' U2 R U R' U' R U R'

Solve : (R U' R' U)2 (U R U' R')

If the back right slot is open you can use the much shorter

R' U2 R2 U R'

Setup: R U' R' U R U' R' U2 R U' R'

Solve : U R U' R' U' R U' R' U R U' R'

or try this, inverse of the previous case, notice it's the setup in the first example above.

R U R' U2 R U R' U' R U R'

Setup: R U R' U2 R U R' U' R U R' F R' F' R

Solve : (R' F R F') (R U' R' U)2 (U R U' R') --- notice it's Sledgehammer -> first case alg, many moves but very quick.

Poke around for other algs and cases on the wiki [wiki]f2l[/wiki] page.

Yes, should have been clear about it, but those above are basic and you really don't need algs for those in my opinion.
As for the original post, just check the link that he provided and keep practicing F2L.

With time intuitive becomes algorithmic and algorithmic becomes intuitive.

Thats what I said. I said I was going to learn algorithms for the harder cases(aka the longer ones).

I won't learn all of them, intuitive f2l is boss, but some of my pairs simply are killing my time.

Thanks rpott, nice quote too
