Well I had not filmed any solves in a long while so decided to get a sub 20 Ao5 on camera.

Average of 5: 18.31

1. 18.18 B' F2 D' R B2 L R F' R U' F2 U B' R2 B' U2 B D' F' U' R U2 R' U' R'
2. (16.06) L U R2 B' U' L F' U2 L2 U2 B2 L' B L U' B2 L2 D2 U' R' U2 L2 D' B R
3. 20.45 B' D2 R F2 L F2 R F B2 R2 L' U2 F U' D' B D' F' D2 L D' U' R F U
4. (23.76) R2 D' R' B F2 U2 D F' U2 D R B2 D2 F2 B' L D' F' R2 F2 L2 F D B2 U2
5. 16.30 D2 R' F B R2 U2 F B R' U' D' R2 U D2 L2 D2 B2 L F' D B U2 D' F R

Slow turning but not great look ahead, bad cross to F2L transition, too many rotations, too low LL tps.

Those are the things I can spot straight away but as always will welcome any advise :)

In the 18 you thought/doubted yourself about AUF - just do it!
I noticed in the 20 that you messed up with the last pair - doing a rotation when you didn't have to - maybe work on your edge orientation identification? It might also be a good idea to learn some no-rotation algorithms for bad edges with the last slot.
You're also very corner biased, perhaps try doing a few solves where you don't do any moves towards solving a pair until you've seen both the pieces for it.

Your PLL recognition is pretty decent and your turning speed is actually fine for now, these solves are good, mostly you need to stop doubting yourself! :)

Thanks for the advise Rowan, much appreciated.

To be honest I had never even considered look ahead bias but you are completely right, not only am I heavily corner biased but I would go so far as to say that I never track an edge before its corner until I have found the corner first, the only exception is probably last slot. I have done a couple of slow solves trying to be more edge aware and can immediately see why I sometimes cannot see a pair in look ahead that is obvious if the edge is tracked first but I don't see tracking corner first.

I also have a bad habit of only switching from inserting pair to looking ahead after 2 to 3 turns, rather than straight away. When I can consciously stop this it makes a huge difference though I am finding it very difficult to break the habit and if I forget for an instance I slip back to the bad habit. I need to make that second nature but am struggling in making that change automatic.

Another evident issue to me is the right hand bias. Though I do insert pairs to FL and BL slots they are normally intuitive inserts rather than mirrors of optimal or finger friendly RH algs I know. My LH feels slow and awkward and will continue to do so unless I start forcing it to solve more.

The recognition of bad edge orientation is a great idea and I will start looking into that this week. Even though I am always eager to optimise intutive with algs as I learn more and more of them I do need to pay particular attention to working on the cases where I rotate.

To be fair these solves weren't the best examples of my normal LL. I was lucky to get more than my fair share of T, J, U PLLs and also some very easy OLLs. Though I know full OLL and PLL I do have some bad OLL algs and my LL can be very bad at times. I really need to start drilling algs more to try and improve in this area. I have many algs that when I try and speed up I just get a mass of locks as I turn inaccurately.

Very observant picking up on the confidence issue as well. I do get overly self critical and this does spill over into my solves. Even more so I guess this week after a disappointing average at UKO. However the weekend gave we a lot of confidence and particularly increased my F2L turnspeed. My Ao5 pb at the time of UKO was 18.15 and had been that for 4-6 weeks. Had 5 sub 18 ao5's so far this week thanks to watching some great solves and solvers :)

Thanks again, I will take the advise on board and see what I can do :)

Nice one, love your turning style.

Thank you Godmill :)

Many thanks for the reconstructions Brest, I will follow the solves again later when I get home from work. Just casting my eyes over them has already highlighted too many rotations, some non optimal crosses, high movecount but also overall TPS. I need to work at turning faster in F2L whilst maintaining look ahead which should be 'easily' possible, there should be no reason not to average 4tps at the bare minimum through a solve overall.

awesome, you're improving :D

Thanks Thom :) If only I could have done similar 4 days earlier. Oh well, there is always the next comp :)
