I don't think there is any algorithms to do it because they would be too long.

The best way to make it is just solve it normally but insert the edge which is on the opposite side of the minx. It takes alot longer then usually but it is fun to do on bigger puzzles such as gigaminx.

There shouldn't be any parity I think.

Yes there is, at least if you want to put every edge sticker on the opposite face (15 edge swaps = odd parity). But some other "checkerboards" should be possible without disassembling the megaminx.

No, by outerlayer they mean the edges of the cubies themselves, and where they touch each other. Though I guess the bits that touch the sphere would also count..

Niklas is an OLL alg, right? so how come you have it set for PLL?

and yes, I understand that sune rotates corners and leaves their permutation unaffected. But I just tried to PLL with niklas, and it took me a few minutes to understand it, and I dont think a nube could figure it out easily.

It's in Dan Brown's tutorial. I think it's safe to say that a newb could work it out. Simply put the solved corner in UFR, and do Niklas until they're in the right places.
