    Default Something very weird,

My timings have been in the 40's eversince I used Fridrich.I usually practice on cubetimer.com but never dropped. But when I bought a Stackmat timer,My timing dropped to the 30's.I can't explain how it happened.it happened out of the blue.Has that happened to any of you guys?

Yeah, after learning F2L my times dropped from 55-75 seconds to 30-45. It was completely random and sudden. I practiced F2L all day the day before with little improvement, the 1st time I tried to solve the day after I got 33 seconds a new PB by 14 seconds, and I followed that with another sub40 solve and another and ...yeah.

its probably because you use your own scrambles when you're using a stackmat timer.

The first time I used a stacktimer was at Berkeley fall 2008. While I was waiting, I was getting 40-50. On the 5 official solves, I got 27, 3 in the 30's and one in the low forties. (You can check my WCA profile.) I was practicing w/ a stopwatch.

It did not affect my 4x4 times, but I got sub-5 on the 5x5 for the first time ever. Ever since then, I always get sub-5 on the 5x5. It was like magic.

I also thought to myself that my scrambles as too easy.so I tested this theory by using the scrambles on cubetimer and timing there the results were the same.so it can't be that your own sramble makes you faster.I sramble the cube blindfolded then solving it.(sighted)

A stackmat makes me much more competetive against myself. On computer timer I get around 20.5 average, on stackmat around 18-19 with only an occasional non-sub-20 when I can't remember OLL or something.
