KJiptner: I never said I was going to switch, only that I was going to learn it :) I learned keyhole from deepcube.net and I really like it. On the site it said you could get sub 50 with it, sub 40 if you were really good (and sub 25 if you are "the" insane guy). I got sub 50 with it really soon (learned it just 2 days before the Belgian Open 2006, got a 36.50 single and 55.85 average there) and I decided to stick with it untill I got sub 30 in a competition. That happened 9 months later at the Belgian Open 2007, I did 26.59, 27.77, (23.66), 26.00, (31.93) = 26.79 there.

Erik: I am looking forward to your video. I have two tips for you
1) Record in an empty environment, not a messy desk
2) Zoom the camera so the cube is in the picture (not you) or shave :)
I can't help it, but I am still addicted to the sexy move
A forum post should be like a skirt. Long enough to cover the subject material, but short enough to keep things interesting

it will be much appreciated also from here!
Cant wait!!

AvG you dont have to learn this, just to show us. let Erik do this and continue with you keyhole insanity! thats incredible times my friend! :ph43r:

@Erik as Kjipter said, pointing at the pair pieces before moving, and explaining theory and strategy would be perfect!

if you wanna take the time and make a project out of this, then please also record full speed solves and put it on slow motion in the end.

I hope you have good quality cam

doubleyou: I am not going to learn it just for this video, I am going to learn it to improve my keyhole-times. I don't believe I will ever be as fast as Erik using regular F2L, but I have one advantage that he doesn't have. I am completely used to inserting corners and edges independently in 3/4 moves. If the corner OR the edge of a pair is already correct I can use empty slots to put the other piece in with fewer moves already. If I can expand this method to put in an "unused pair" and leave correct pieces where they are, I might actually become (almost) as fast as he is. Maybe I can explain this better with an example: D R U R' D'. Normal F2L algs would take about 17 (U' F U' F' U' F U2 F' and R' U' R' U' R' U R U R) moves to solve this. Working corner (mixed with F2L) would do it in 5.

Erik: I used Windows Movie Maker (from Vista, but XP has it too) to make my movies. I only inserted the avi, added titles at the beginning and the end and choose publish to this computer. Than all you need is to enter a filename and choose "compress to xxx MB". I start at 1 MB and increase the filesize untill the display size changes from 192x144 to 384x288. This setting uses about 3 MB per minute

Edit: You got it uploaded during my post. I will watch it tonight when I am at home. Thanks!

The second pair in the first solve. You did R' U R U' y L U L', but why not just R' F U F' R?

The third pair in the third solve, you definitely should've used working corner here. :)

Otherwise I undesrtand almost everyhing, nice video!

I use the faster insertions of corners or edges when the other piece is already good too Av. D RU'R' D is somewhere in the vid I think though I'm not sure...
