    Default In your opinion...

... does listening to music help you to do some solves faster? I am going to try experimenting with it, because I seem to be thinking too much while solving, instead of looking ahead. Does anybody think this could help? (I searched for this, and didn't find anything)

Music often helps me get faster times. I listen to different kinds of music depending on what type of solving I am doing, and my mood. For speedsolving I tend to get my fastest averages when I listen to very slow, very mellow music with a regular beat. For blindfolded solving the angrier and louder the music the better. Nine Inch Nails, Five Finger Death Punch, Killswitch Engage, Atreyu, and Rammstein are favorites for BLD solves for me when I want to get very fast times.

For speedsolving I like to listen to Lamb, Enigma, Eagles, Pink Floyd, jazz, classical.

also Trance music is great for me for speedsolving

There has been discussion about this in various off-topic threads. People seem to have their own opinions on the matter.

Mr Hardwick: Which trance artists do you listen to? I love the genre, but have almost none of it in my supply, I would like to get some recommended stuff sometime.

Try Tiesto, his music is simply amazing.

I listen to no music while solving simply because I wouldn't be allowed to do that in a competition.

Yeah, his music is amazing. All the In Search of Sunrise are the best trance at the moment IMO. If you want I can send you some trance?

    Hey Dene,

I personally like Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto, Hooverphonic, Boards of Canada, and Moby. I'm not sure if Moby and Boards of Canada are technically trance, but they definitely fit the genre in my mind, and I consider them to be trance music.
