We're working on this. There's a thread in the admin/mod forum but only pjk and I have posted in it.
It's being worked on, albeit from a prevention point of view rather than a cleaning point of view.

You maybe understood me wrong.
As you will read in the first post of this thread: I don't blame the guy who initially made the post much since he is new!
I blame all the guys who responded to the thread, guys (or girls) who are already on this forum a bit longer and know the way you should behave here.
If we 'let it grid and play out' this forum will soon be a copy of Twistypuzzles, a forum of which you maybe know of, with loads and loads of double or useless threads.
Also I think this is the perfect spot for this thread. This section is about help support & suggestions, in other words the way this forum is build up. The place where we talk about the forum as a whole.
I don't know why but I get the feeling you don't like me or our suggestions. I hope I am wrong there. Are you really in favor of the double double posts and non-thinking users?
When new cubers come here and see a forum with lots of playfull, too informal threads, they might get the idea they can just post away without checking. That's not what this forum need imho.
When I was a new cuber I was frightened to post anything, first checking out what people would talk about and making sure they didn't bully me away because I was new and slow. The forum's were more serious back then. It gave me the idea that you should think much before you would post something.

I hope you’re not inferring I’m affronted by you. I haven’t been around long enough for you to make a lasting impression. I intended the “mis-placed thread” as a kindly jab. I appreciate that this particular forum takes cubing seriously. It’s rather unexpected really; as any net-head who’s swam the vastness knows.
Some actual constructive advice: let the mods modify unclear titles in brackets.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [good times with Petrus]
I ''only'' quoted what was important for me.
And don't call me Mr. Henxu. That made me feel like if i had 40 years old -.-''
I'm agree with Erik, in every forum I've entered (sry my bad english) not only cubing forum, also electronics or anything like that, I was AFRAID too, I didn't want that the people begin call me , ''Noob'' ''Use the search function'' or anything like that. When I was a new cuber I was frightened to post anything, first checking out what people would talk about and making sure they didn't bully me away because I was new and slow. I hope the people who opens and answers those threads can read THIS thread...
I quite agree. When I made my first post (in the OH section) I went through every other post in the OH section first to make sure it hadn't been covered. Although I must admit I'm probably not the best example to these forums, I spam a lot. However I have steadily become much less interested in the forums these days, and tend to read only 3 or 4 posts a day, and ignore the rest.
There's a very nice "Please read before posting" sticky in the Beginner's forum. A lot of the problems we're seeing could be alleviated if people actually do what it says. I also think it needs to replace/merge with the sticky with the same title in the Speedcubing forum so that more people get the message.
A lot of the members here are kids and are not necessarily up on netiquette. We can correct them without biting their heads off, it will only help them in other forums.
[Hyde]We could also correct them by biting their heads off. That would also help the other forums.[/Hyde]

[Jekyll]I thought I was pretty clear in http://www.speedsolving.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5701 post 18, but I have sent the creators of post 19 and 22 the following PM:
Subject = please read before you post
Body =
Nothing serious, but I wanted to tell you that you should be more carefull about the way you post things. For the reason why I am telling you this, please check this thread: http://www.speedsolving.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5701
Specifically post 18 and 19 / 22[/Jekyll]
