Special mentions to Chris Wall who filmed and Adam Greenwood who organised a faultless first competition (but most importantly who twisted my arm to come!)

The times for the full average were 2:32.11, 2:25.27, 2:49.48 = 2:35.62. I went for sub-WR mean on the last solve, but the scrambles and letter pairs were a bit crap. This is my last big BLD competition for a very long time, but if I return it will be for 4BLD only, since the single and mean are both very beatable.

Memo was around 1:04, apparently. Once I find the WR scramble I will post the solution, since I remember it being quite sexy (apart from the 1,292,615 lock-ups on wing parity)

Nice job Ollie!!!

And why are you taking a break from bigBLD in comps for a while? 5BLD WR is still very beatable.

Not in comp for me at least, my accuracy is too poor and I've made numerous attempts to improve it and failed. I found 4BLD to be quite comfortable at this comp as I'd developed a performance ritual to control my nerves and to ensure that I'd get WR and get 100% accuracy, which didn't work at all for 5BLD.

Plus the only nice BLD event for me now is 3BLD, since it doesn't take too long to practice (and it's my worst event!) which is better for my final year at University (cubing got in the way a lot last year.)
