    Default Cubing for Charity

I had this idea today while my church was discussing ways to raise money for certain charities, we could have a cubing competition for a certain charity. This would not only help the people that benefit from this charity, but it would also benefit the cubing community. We would have more publicity and be viewed as helpers instead of "nerds" or "geeks", as others would say. So what do you guys think?

Our entry fees at Captain's Cove went to the "Swim Across the Sound" charity.

That's true, but I mean sort of like a walkathon type of thing. Where we would find a sponsor and for every solve under however many seconds they get like 10 dollars.

I don't think paying for times would work out. If someone averages sub-15, paying them for achieving sub-15 solves would be kind of durr. Maybe have an endurance type thing, like walkathons, where for every 100 solves (a "lap") you get a certain amount, might work better.
