video showing cube4you and 9spuzzles DIYs

Here are my type As

first one is from cube4you, got it 2 weeks ago or so
it's kinda bad, stiff and noisy

the other one is from 9spuzzles, from like...last year
much better, smooth and cool

did anybody else get this difference? I was talking to Dan Cohen yesterday and he said it may be that the springs are too tight..

Well, considering one is from 2 weeks ago, I don't think it can be much of a fair comparison. If I'm perfectly honest, I can';t hear too much of a difference =p

I have my cube4you for like 4 months now and it is more quiet than your from 9puzzles, doesn't stiff, is smooth and everything. It's also pretty tight becuase cubes like to pop in my hands...

actually, I have 2 from november and 3 from february (all 9spuzzles), and they all feel about the same...

maybe I just got unlucky with my cube4you ones :/

Could it have anything to do with the big age difference in the cubes? One is broken in and the other isn't?
Are the tensions set the same? My old OH cube is a Cube4You and none of the springs back noise, and its crisp and nice :-)

well, the age difference is not that big (couple months)

yeah, I set the tension the same...

the 9spuzzles ones felt good right from the beginning...and I don't use them much, only for multi bld

cube4you's start out stiff

but that's easily fixed by an initial lubing. By forcing turns that usually "can't be turns", i find that even when the lube dries up it has been sufficiently broken in
