    I don't see what's wrong. he's not stopping with his wrists or touching the puzzle and his palms are down.

    His starting technique is slightly funny, it looks as though he's gripping the front side of the timer with his thumbs, more of a claw grip than a flat palm. W/e, it's not like any regulations will apply to this puzzle soon...

    He's stopping with his fingers which is even more preferable.
