Thread: F2L Japanese Style?

    Default F2L Japanese Style?

I recently got stumbled upon this video and and tried learning some of the algs, but then I realized if I learn all of these then my f2l style would dramatically change.
Are these f2l tricks? Or straight-up f2l algs?

It seems that this cuber, who is Japanese, fills in his f2l slots from very awkward cases. I am an intuitive f2l user (avg around 6 seconds just on f2l) and like to do like 3 move set-ups here and there to get very easy cases that I can do in sub 0.7 seconds in many cases.

Those are F2L algorithms: it seems that instead of the usual setup-insert, he directly inserts the pieces in their corresponding slot and then fixes what he broke while doing that.

F2L is all about copying the things that you think are better than you currently use and discarding the things that aren't. If you're happy with most of your F2L then that's fine just be sure to identify if there are any cases you think could be improved and see if anyone else does them better.
