It was torture, until he did his first solve ever, without my help with Roux, we were both so happy and glad we did it. Point is, if you can do something hard, you'll find many other things easy. Plus Roux blocks and LSE gives lots of techniques for being cube fluent (the one it misses is comms ofc)

And why do you say she should try multiple methods yet leave Roux until sub-30. I wholly agree that she should try as many methods as possible, but leaving Roux because it's hard? I disagree.
Oh no, I did't mean completely leave roux. Still try roux and all but have an understanding of lots of different methods. And don't go with a method because someone else told you use it. Go with what you like. That way when you are sub 30 you can choose the one method you like and try to improve with that.

    (a^b)^c = a^(b c) e^(2 i pi c floor(1/2-(Im(b log(a)))/(2 pi)))
I've been cubing for only just over 2 years and I feel old already

    sup.

learn roux straight away instead of waiting. it's harder to switch from another method than to learn it straight away (probably).

Welcome! Yeah, not many of us girls around here but that is ok. Nice to see another one. Awesome that you want to learn Roux. Are you doing beginner's now? I'm CFOP but looked into learning other methods as well and Roux would definitely be my other choice though right now I'm not good at block building. Good luck with the Roux! I think there should be a Girls' Club and a Roux Club.

Oh, and welcome to the forums.
Roux is really cool. CFOP and other LBL methods get boring after a while, but block-building type methods stay fun longer, just because its completely different each time, if that makes sense.

    1. get your solved cube.

    2. put your favorite side color on top.

    3. put your second favorite (adjacent to your first color) side color on the front.

    4. memorize this orientation. dont rotate the cube left or right ever again.
