Use of Visitor Message Box

Why is it that on this forum people almost do not ever use the visitor messaging system? I have been here for more than two years and have only had 14 visitor messages. I have not seen anyone with more than 20 either.

Where as if you go to a different vBullition forum such as forum.emobucket.com, there are people with thousands of visitor messages.

I realize the demographic of SS and EB are completely different as I think of SS to be filled with at least somewhat intelligent people where as EB is bursting with stupid emos and retarded scenesters. But why is it that people want to talk and to get to know each other so much on EB yet it seems like nobody wants to do the same of SS?

Looks like you've never responded.

I suspect we don't use this much because it's not conducive to our community's focus. We're generally more interested in discussions about a specific something, and sharing that discussion with anyone who wants to join in. Visitor messaging just doesn't fit that very well.

Hmm, well, I don't really see any need for it. If people want to chat between themselves there are other ways, such as PM, e-mail, msn/AOL, #, etc.
