Cubing Bipolarity? Buying too many cubes and being undecided.

So i recently went on a shopping spree. Went on Lubix.com and bought a couple cubes. Both dayan, an ultimate Lubix GuHong (V1) and an Ultimate Lubix ZhanChi, with some lubix (smallest) lubricant. So I get them, I'm extremely excited of course. I've been using the GuHong v2 s my speed cube. (BTW I applied some lubix on my previusly UNLUBED GuHong V2 and it works fantastically).

So it turns out, I obviously want a new main, for which I ordered these two Lubixs' and started with solving.

Almost immediately I said that the Lubix ZhanChi was my favorite and it was going to become my main. I felt the Lubix Guhong was too flimsy and out of control fast, and that the zhanchi had the best feeling.

I took a break from solving, came back, and all of a sudden i felt exactly the opposite. the Lubix GuHong now feels better and the Zhanchi Feels fast!!

I just thought I'd share this with you guys and hear similar experiences. I'll just keep using them and figuring out which one will be my main. What do you guys find in a main?


Also I have a little curious thing, I also always think of my "taking out" cube. which is the one that I will take out to dinner or some sort of social event or just to class. Usually its a sticker-less or my pillowed vcube 3 because it looks awesome.

What do you guys think?!

i agree completly. except my cubes are different. but on a side note, i either bring my sticker-less or 2x2, (people at my school oddly like 2x2's a lot!) but anyway, when i first got my FII, i loved it very much, and then i got the alpha III-f, and that was my main, and then got a guhong, and that is my main as of right now. but going back to the FII and alpha III-f, it seems they arent as good as they used to be, if that makes sense. so i agree.

I used to love zhanchi until the fact it exploded a lot finally got to me, and the swishy feel of a guhong grew on me. As for taking out cube, yes I think of that! I think of the cube I might not worry about popping and getting dirt in it or won't pop under pressure if I have to show somebody at an event, or stuff. I use the cube made from the remaining pieces on my main which is a hybrid of guhong and guhong2.

Lingyun forever. Or was it Zhanchi forever. hm.

For me it was like January Zhanchi, March Guhung v2, April Lingyun v2. I changed much too. I still use my zhanchi for OH

i switch between my zhanchi and guhong v1 all the time

there's just something about the sensation there's nothing inside my guhong when i turn it, it feels surreal xD
and after doing CPM on my zhanchi it feels pretty good :P

I only have a ZhanChi and a storebought Rubik's... so no choice at all

^ same here, its somewhat tempting to get a stickerless guhong but i know i will go mad debating whether i want the no stickerness or the originallness. dont have to worry about it unless theres a cube thats far superior to the zhanchi which is hard to imagine.

For my "Taking out" cube I have my stickerless GuHong. It pops a lot but it's funny to see peoples facial expressions when they think they "Broke" my cube. xD
