I purchased this puzzle a few months ago at speedcubeshop.
This is a great competition puzzle once you lube and tension it. Out of the box, I would rate it as bad or worse that a rubik's brand, but once I lubed it, broke it in, tensioned it, and did the v-cube mod to it, It became a very good cube that I now use for competitions (until my friend broke it-now I need to retention it.)
Anyways, this is a must-have cube for a speedcuber.

i had mine for a few months (trade a while back).

the core snapped; i threw it away.

the legend is potentially the worst speedcube ever produced.

I got it a long time ago. It was bad out of the box and didn't get any better with lubing/breaking in.
Now it is just in a big box with all my other old 3x3s that I never use any more.

It is almost like there are no springs in it. The layers turn around the core like they are loose and floating over it. This makes it too hard to control.

Both of you made the mistake of not trying to figure out why. I figured out that the core screws were too loose-all you need to do is tighten them as much as you can.

bought mine around 6 months ago from speedcubeshop
It is Cameron's actual mf8 so he lubed and tensioned it (its in his review) so it was obviously good out of the box
Still my favourite cube just because its so different, fastest turning cube I own as well faster than my guhong.
