Sort of, but more like corner controlling. Do R' F R F' 3 times to set up. If you were to solve this normally (R U R' U' x3) you would get an OLL case to do. But if instead you solve the pair by doing R' F R F' x3 (or R2 U R2 U R2 U2 R2) you will skip OLL.

    I think y' R2 U' R2 U' R2 U2 R2 might be faster... seems to be for me, anyway.

i find that gripping the FR edge with my middle finger and the BR edge with my thumb makes the alg easier to excecute. also, do the second U move with your ring finger.

I grab the first R2 from behind so my thumb is on the back face and my other four fingers are on the front face and I can switch onto the first U with ease.
Important documents will demonstrate their vitality by moving from where you left them to where you can't find them.

earlier in the thread it was mentioned that it had a different effect on the corners... however it's the same effect as Triple Sledge hammer (R' F R F') which I find faster.

this is a better alg when you want to save other corners....

i use ( R U R' U' 3) when i see two corners not placed in the last layer but when i have only one corner to be placed in the last layer i prefer (R' F R F')
