    Default Megaminx color scheme?

I have just bought a megaminx. The stickers are still not stuck onto it, and I don't know the color scheme of a megaminx. Is there a official color scheme for the megaminx? Moreover, are there any megaminx tutorials on the Internet?

    Thanks a lot!

Always you can solve the megaminx like a 3x3x3. And the color scheme changes if you have a Mefferts's megaminx or another.

Erik's site, erikku.110mb.com has a great minx tutorial, but there are a few others on the web. For the scheme, I'll post some pics of my minx, along w/ the colors.

Thanks a lot!!! But it seems like that I can't find a solution of permutating last layer corners on erikku.110.mb.com...........

    You can do LL on a Megaminx with 4 algorithms :-) {not efficient}

    Orient Edges
    R' F' U' F U R

    Orient Corners
    Sune

    Permute Corners
    J Perm (Right): R U2 R' U' R U2 L' U R' U' L

    Permute Edges
    U Perm (Anti-Clockwise): R U R' U R' U' R2' U' R U R U R' U2'

Cheers to Erik for pointing out that last U Perm ^_^

On Erik's previous site, before he updated it, he had a description of how to do the last layer corner permutation that was excellent, and it's what I use.

It basically amounts to using a 3-move algorithm and its inverse to cycle the corners. I'm not sure how to notate it easily because it uses bottom half layers. I could use the old (pre-Pochmann) scrambling notation, I suppose - then it's:
D4 b4 D (rotate the A face to the next corner to fix), D4 b D (rotate the A face to the next corner to fix), etc. It's very fast and easy, and you can look ahead perfectly with it.

Well, yesterday a mefferts's megaminx arrived me and I had to put the tiles too, then I saw videos of speedsolve about megaminx to know which was the color scheme, and I found a lot of megaminx with the same color scheme exactly how Erik Akkersdijk shows on his tutorial (despite his megaminx doesn't have the same color scheme). So if you see his tutorial you could notice we can see only the upper colors and lower too, with pictures I noticed that red is between dark green and purple.

    Good luck!

is it just me or those algs don't work? O.o

I use the "other" J perm, as on Erik's site
    R' U2' R U R' U2 L U' R U L'

    EDIT:
    The U perm works like this: R U R' U R' U' R2 U' R' U R' U R U2'

about the color scheme, here's a pic from mefferts website:
    http://sites.webec.com.hk/meffert/pr...00807_mini.jpg

the face to the back/left is red and back/right is orange

    now the opposite colors:
    white/yellow
    pink/purple
    dark blue/blue
    red/brown
    orange/light blue
    light gree/green

For the corners, I use [R' {D} R, {U}] where the direction of the D turn alternates and the U turn puts the corner's position into place.
