Yes although I am slow at it. My friend is pretty fast at it, like 30 seconds, and we like racing with me solving two rubik's cubes and him the sliding puzzle.

At best, I got a 7.3x single on one. Not difficult whatsoever.
Here's what I do:
1.) Solve 1-4
2.) Solve 13-15, put 12 in the bottom right (in the "16" position)
3.) Solve 5 & 9
4.) Permute 6, 7, 8, 10, 11
5.) Push 12 up

15 Puzzle Help

Today, I looked up 15 puzzle online and have been trying to solve it. I can get 1-8 in the first two rows, as well as the 9 and 13, but I cannot get the last 5 pieces. Are there any tricks for doing this?

-Get the 14 in the spot next to the 9, and make sure the 10 isn't directly below it
-Move the 10 into the top row
-Get the 10 next to the 14 and move the empty space to below the 14
-Bring the 14 down and the 10 with it into its proper space
-The last 3 pieces should always be in a solvable cycle (if they're not, something is wrong somewhere)

If I wanted to say that very quickly, I would say what ben said a few posts down because that's essentially what this is

Also what would the best way to solve this be?

I'd do (moves are moving the blank):
ULD to bring the 10 in place and the 14 to the right
RRUL to put the 14 where the 15 is
DLU to put the 10 where the 14 should go
RRDLULDR to solve 10 and 14
RULDR to solve L3P

There's almost certainly a more efficient way to do it...

So I've been looking at 15 puzzle a bit recently, and I was just wondering what a good strategy would be for getting the last 6 tiles. Getting the 1,2,3,4,5,9,13,6,7 and 8 tiles is fairly simple, but I find that I hit a big block when trying to get the 10 and the 14. I end up spending a ton of moves. Is there any easy / move efficient way to get those 2 tiles, as the last 3 are accomplished through quick rotations?

It depends how many moves you mean when you say "move efficient". Even though there are only 5 tiles, there are still some cases that need about 20 moves to solve. If you can, try and force an easier case when you are solving 9 and 13 (or 6 7 and 8 if you use fringe).

Long before I ever solved a 3x3, I loved (and still do love ) solving sliding tile games. There is an app for the iPad called "Rearange" that allows toy to solve such puzzles up to 12x16 which I have.

Here's my idea for the 15 puzzle (4x4):

1, 2
3, 4 (together)
5 6
7, 8 (together)
9, 13 (together)
10, 14 (together)

Then the 15 tile will be a easy placement.

God's Algorithm has been calculated for the 15 puzzle. It is 80 moves (STM, single tile moves) and 43 moves (MTM, multi tile moves).

Hook 10 and 14 together. You then have a 3cycle to finish the puzzle.

here's an interesting thing. on the 15 puzzle, if you use 80 move scrambles then the puzzle will consistently be less scrambled than it would be if you use random permutations. it turns out that to get scrambles that "appear" as scrambled as random permutations most of the time, you need about 270 moves (although random permutations will always be slightly better than random moves). most 15 puzzle simulators that I've seen use random move scrambles and most of them don't use anywhere near enough moves.

also people sometimes ask me for example solves so here's an avg12 I just got:
