Thread: FII Malfunction help?

  1. #1

    Question FII Malfunction help?

Hi guys/gals, my FII that I have had for about one month now has started acting up. I replaced the stickers after about one week, and am glad that I did. The problem that I have found is that the caps on the edge/corner pieces keep popping. This started happening today after I applied lube, and tightened it. What should I do to fix this?

Some people put some paper between the pieces and the caps so they sit tighter. All I did was take some gorilla glue and glue on the caps. Helps a lot since I'm pretty clumsy and tend to drop my cubes a lot.

Paper in center caps. Super glue the rest.

When I get an FII, I smack in on a hard surface to pop all the lose caps out. I glue them all in except the center caps of course, then replace the stickers.

    Edge/corner: glue.
Center: take a sharp knife or a boxcutter and make some little marks in the inside of the cap. You can do this in the center piece too.

I glued all of the caps in place. It's not my main and never will be, so I doubt if I'll ever use it enough to "wear it out" or slack the tensions.

I only use most of my 3x3x3s occasionally, just to enjoy their individual quirks.

Super glue. Problem solved. If you do use superglue be careful not to use too much to where it glues the pieces together. Hope that helps.

Glue the caps in place or put small pieces of paper inside the caps. For the others, using superglue. Just be careful you don't actually glue edges or corners together.

By the way, FIIs deteriorate anyway. You'll eventually have to get a new one.

If you do this you want to use a very small amount of glue so you can actually remove the caps later on if you want to tension it again.
    WINNING!!!
