whats the difference between any diff oil/lube and maru lube?
why is maru recommended for big cubes?
diff oil is really thick and clear and maru is like a milky color and it's like water
I think people recommend maru for big cubes because it instantly makes the cube faster/better and/or they don't want to risk over lubing with something as expensive as lubix and be disappointed when they see that the cube doesn't respond well to that kind of lubricant.
Personally I use traxxas 50k in my big cubes because it lasts longer but sometimes I use a combination because I think it makes the cube super smooth and fast.
im going to lube the core of my ss 4x4 with reely 5k and then drip some maru in the layers and see if its any good. thanks![]()

Personally I like the disassembly and lubing with lubix. It connects me to the inner workings (weird, I know).
You get to know the cube, and you can find out interesting things that way.. like a SS 6x6 with a missing inside arch piece and it still turning just fine.(notified the seller of course as soon as the first corner was disassembled and I noticed).
I personally think lubix is the best lube for 3x3s, but I heard that it does not work on bigger cubes like 4x4 and 5x5. So what are the best lubricants for 4x4 and 5x5? (specifically Shengshou)
A low weight shock oil. I use 10wt.
