I am thinking of buying my first speedcube and would like suggestions

I wish for a cube with minimal popping and lockups. But want one that will cut corners well and is great for beginner speedsolvers to use that will allow as much growth as possible. I have enough for one cube so I want it count.

    Thx,
    August

P.S. Page links for buying would b helpful

Stickerless are not legal. And get the ZhanChi, it's the best of the series (or so I've heard many times over on the internet).

    >_> Well stickerless aren't legal in competition.
I love the Dayan Guhong more than Dayan Zhanchi though. But meh, that's just me.
If you do get any cube out of the Dayan series though and you'll be very content with it.

I can't find any speedcube that suit me yet. I had a zhanchi but i don't like it because of the clickyness (I really hate it) And it slow down after a month of using. I used to have a guhong too and i don;t know why but my cube is hard and crappy feel (I use a POM version) . I want a cube that is buttery smooth feeling and ok speed, Decent corner cut. I'm thinking about trying and F II and guhong V II.

did you try lubing the guhong? It (mine) is really slow out of the box, but just put a few drops of lubix in (or even lube the entire core) and it will become amazing. I've heard good things about Guhong v2. The FII is fine, but it pops fairly often. It cuts ~2/3 of a cubie, and reverse cuts 1/4 ish.
I really like the lingyun v2 - it's fast, cuts corners excelently, but it isn't that smooth. It gets smoother after lubrication and breaking it in though.

What is the best pyraminx to get? I have no knowledge on the quality of pyraminxes.

If your Dayan's feel crappy, youre doing something wrong... the kind of lube could be the reason , im very pro-lubix (biased because or owning a lubix elite which is amazingg) but any kind of lube like traxxas stuff should work well. Another you could try is modding the guhong , which has a variety of "famous" mods ,

I own the F II and it does have the "buttery" feeling you are describing but only for about the first week or two. people who swear by FII's usually order a few right before competition so they have that kind of feeling. It doesnt last , hence why most cubers are sort of meh at the thought of buying an F II.

Also , if you are reallyy lazy lubixcube.com sells already modded guhongs and zhanchis that I have experienced first-hand and can recommend , but they are overpriced so a lot of people say ehh to lubix as well.

    Good luck!

I know Felix is getting a Meffert's Speedcubing Pyraminx, and states records will be broken at US Nats.

...I'd recommend the Meffert's Speedcubing Pyraminx.
