Thread: "What cube should I get?" The Puzzle Choice Thread

    Hello again,
So I got the Dayan Zhanchi and love it but its a little loud in the office building I use it at all day. Any suggestions for a very very quiet cube? I would like something with comparable speed if possible. 3x3 only I should probably say.

Have you lubed up the Zhanchi? Mine is loud too but I was thinking lubricating it might solve that problem.

    EDIT:
Or maybe popping off the center pieces and loosening the screws.

Not yet but from my research online the zhanchi is just a naturally clicky cube.

I'm starting to break into 40 second avg. and I'm thinking about buying a Dayan Zhanchi. (The 4 week shipping might give me some time to improve)
    Stickerless
    DIY
    Regular

What is the difference between the three? All I've been using so far is the Rubiks brand

The DIY you have to put together yourself, the stickerless is illegal in competitions but it doesnt have stickers, instead it has coloured plastic, the regular comes put together and with stickers,if you are not planning on going to competitions I would say the stickerless as plastic doesnt wear away like stickers do. If you are planning on going to comps then it depends if you can be bothered to put the DIY together, if you can be botheredto put it together save yourself 8 bucks and get the DIY. If not get the regular. I also recomend lubix,it is more expensive for the stickerless, doesnt sell DIY´s and the regular is 0.01 dollars cheaper plus it lubes it with lubix and does the 48 edge point mod...check it out.

    Default Big Cube 15cm

I'm looking for a BIG 3x3x3 for a film. Does anyone know where I can could find one? Around 15x15 cm?

The only big 3x3x3 I can think of is the YJ Crazy Foot Cube, at 10 cm^3 I believe.
    PBs (3x3): 6.80 (3x3 nl): 7.91 (2x2): 1.10 (3x3 OH): 24.80 (4x4): 58.08 (5x5): 1:35.23

Default Diansheng World vs Rubik's World

I own a DS world. Never owned a Rubik's one before, and from seeing pictures of the Rubik's one, cosmetically it looks a lot better than the DS one.

But I'm wondering how they compare to each other as far as how they turn is concerned. I'm thinking if the Rubik's one turns a lot better than the DS, then I may sell the DS and get a Rubik's.

I actually got the DS world today, but I'm a bit dissapointed, I assumed it was going to be a Rubik's one, but I guess I didn't properly check the picture of what I was buying.

The paint job on it doesn't look that good, some of the countries look really stretched and distorted, big ridges on the edges of some of the pieces, and it doesn't turn that great, although that may change once it's been broken in and lubed.

I have a Rubik's World but have never tried a DS one. I can say that a World is not even worth owning in the first place. It is more of a novelty item than actually fun. I MIGHT have solved mine 20 times. It gets boring after a while.
