    btw what if I solve a cube, throws down cube, stops timer, and cube falls on the ground and breaks? DNF?

    Yea...and if you try to catch it in an effort to prevent it from hitting the floor and actually make contact with the cube it's a DNF as well. Yay WCA regulations.
