I don't understand why I like it either. Paper and computerbackgrounds are white because other colors that you put on it are very visible and distinctive.

And in that case that other color is most of the time black and almost never bright yellow and certainly never white (...well who knows ).

As with everything, it's largely a matter of preference and getting used to it and hence very subjective.

But still I wonder if there is some color that scientifically speaking is the best color. For instance in snooker and billards, it's a well known fact that the black ball is the most difficult ball to pot on the table and the yellow ball is the easiest ball to pot. This is because your eyes need light to be able to focus on something and a black ball reflects a lot less light compared to a yellow ball. For that reason it's tougher to pick a spot and aim at a black ball.

That is why most people solve with white-cross, yellow last layer.

And a white cube shouldn't have white stickers. It should have black stickers instead, like the white olympic cubes have

On store bought cubes I used to solve white cross. I found that my bottom layer stickers would get worn out first. When the white ones wore out it didn't matter because they were already white!

Now I have a white DIY cube with white (cubesmith) stickers. I love solving white on top (yellow cross) as on the white cube it really stands out.

Anyone else have a white cube? What is your cross colour?

I actually am waiting on my white DIY cube, and my tiles from cubesmith. So, I can't really tell you what I solve on it yet, but on my store bought one, I solve white first, yellow last.
