# Thread: 5x5 Final 2 Tredge Algs?

1. ## 5x5 Final 2 Tredge Algs?

I am currently working on 5x5, but am a little confused. I am referencing the algorithms at bigcubes.com for the cases of the final two tredges. I have watched various youtube videos and read quite a few posts here and many mention that you don't necessarily need to know all of those algorithms in order to finish the cube. I am unclear however on which algs are a requirement and which are optional. If someone could point out which ones are necessary and how to setup the other cases so that they can be done without additional algorithms I would be very appreciative.

2. Have you watched RobH0629's tutorial for the final edges on 5x5?

If you browse around he has all cases for the last two edges for the 5x5 in
separate videos like this one:

-Rob's video is not comprehensive enough and really gives just two cases.

-Nakaji gives 7 of them :-) Hope this helped.

4. I used RobH0629's tutorials to solve the 5x5 cube. His 2 cases are enough for the beginner at the 5x5. But since then, I've learned to handle 4 more cases, including the parity pair alg and the swapping the centre cubies of a 1x3 block edge.

5. You really just need to learn one parity case minimum. If you don't have parity you can do it in 1-2 simple edge swaps like:

(Dd) + R U R' F R' F' R + (Dd)'

If you do have parity then you can use that one parity alg then like above, the 1-2 swaps. It does help to just know every possible last two tredges case though =P

This was my whole point... I have seen the algorithms, but I needed to know which one's I HAD to learn to get to the point that I could solve it. This vid looks like it will take care of that and then I can pick up the rest later.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

7. You can solve with purely the "single match and flip" alg in the link I provided. It's completely intuitive.
