Default Hi... I'm a new member. Help me out a bit please?

Hi guys this is my first post. I am a Melbourner and I have been cubing for about 1month and have been totally addicted to it. I'm 12 years old and I'm not sure if this site is only for 13 or older....
Me and my friend just go to school and immediately have cube-offs in the library (Yeah, that nerdy eh?). I just typed in 'Speedcubing' on google and then it came up as this.
My time for using the beginner method is around 50secs and was hoping to do the Fridich method for solving it faster. If anyone can help me please post it. I can not use Youtube because my dad says I'm not allowed. Some of the sites don't help me at all, they just confuse me.

Maybe you could watch youtube tutorials together with your dad?

Search the youtube for badmephisto tutorial and you will instantly get to beginners method explanation. That could help a lot already.

    Alternative searches for Friedrich:
    badmephisto cross
    badmephisto f2l
    badmephisto oll
    badmephisto pll

Or you could just search for f2l, oll, pll. Add rubik or 3x3x3.

I'm pretty sure that with these searches you will not find any videos that are inappropriate for you age. Let your dad watch them.

If you are not allowed to watch videos from youtube even with your parent, then google will bring up some good sites with algorithms and explanations anyway.

peedu obviously meant to type badmephisto. I can only recommend his tutorials as well.

Also, browse the Beginners & Speedcubing sections on this site, they will answer most of your questions. If you are looking for a specific answer, use the search function before making a new thread .

You probably answered when my post was saying something like: "Search on youtube for bad" and I somehow managed to post it before I ment to post it.

Now I edited the first post, so I hope it is helpful.

This is a scenario I have not been thinking about earlier, Rubik's cube is for all ages. Except for those under 1-year old babies who test everything by tasting.
Youtube is a great way of teaching. But surely there is a lot of weird stuff on youtube.

How do you help those guys? We use a lot of slang which is not understandable for new cubers, so sometimes the search function is not giving good answers.

On the other hand we have some useful stuff here if we search for "sledgehammer" or something like that.

    It's not that.
We have internet usage and Youtube uses a lot.
Of course I can watch Youtube by myself. I'm capped and my Dad doesn't want to see how bad the internet bill is.
