I know this thread is old, but did not want to create another thread for the same topic.

Am I reading this correctly that it is possible to translate the presentation given by Hoey into a presentation which does use the face turns as generators? Also, how could the...
Well, some mathematicians actually spend some of their time studying puzzles, including the Rubik's Cube. But perhaps you mean doing long-term systematic academic research on cube theory as a high priority.

Sorry for that. I'll look for good alternatives to PasteHTML, then I'll update (edit) this comment.
Update: I've moved pages from PasteHTML to my website, links in the OP are updated. Please check if there are any problems with online timer.
latest online version, index, home
I also began to learn javascript by making a timer (by modifying an existing Mr.Toad's online timer for 15 sliding puzzle).

Unfortunately I did not have enough time to support it (but will asap); nevertheless, feel free...
Wow, congratulations for the first 5x5x5-related analysis.
Do you have any plans on performing multi-stage analysis of the 5x5x5 similar to one you did for 4x4x4?
If so, could you suggest any sequence(s) of nested substages which is (are) better suitable for such analysis (as you did for 4x4x4)?
The bug is replicated. It is because Chrome intentionally disables cookies on things like file:// (local webpages). In other browsers, it seems to work normally. I'll use localStorage in future versions to save settings, just as it is used for PBs. Thanks for reporting this.
I think yes for...
I think he knows it.
@Peter: Interesting analysis. I do not know, though, how the scrambles are selected "officially". Maybe they are using something like Cube Explorer to generate truly random positions and then find generators for them? In this case, all positions can be picked with equal...
Sorry if I am speaking out of ignorance, but what is the simple proof that picking up exactly 20 random moves in HTM can give you any reachable Rubik's Cube configuration?
Of course it's not true in QTM because half of all the configurations is at even distance, and other half is at odd...
I assume that you mean the button to exclude some messed up solve from the stats. If so, then I could do so. However, the main reason why I've implemented "official" feature was to prevent intentional or unintentional lowering PBs by cancelling some bad solves in progress, when it's clear that...
Ok, I see. Please read this post. Edit: sorry, link fixed.
Most likely the problem is that you're using from time to time Live XXX color scheme and/or pressing Escape to cancel some solve. Each time you're do so, the "Official" counter resets to the 0 (on your picture, it's 12, although you've...
