What is the most cubing-developed country?

I think there is a certain statistical bias in most posts here. 1. There is a big language barrier between the english language and the languages spoken in china. This barrier does not exist in most european countries and most people in the USA already speak english by default. But many...

    confirmation of scramble 'correctness'

Theoretically speaking, there are scrambles that look the same on 5 sides. For Example, start with a solved cube and flip the 4 Top Layer Edges. Take another cube, do a U Perm and then flip the 4 Top Layer Edges. If you deliberately don't look at the top side, those 2 scrambles look the same...

Lars Petrus's own pronunciation of Sune

To my knowledge, the confusion only started a few years ago when JPerm parodied the disclaimer on the Wiki page of Sune. Which I believe was put there in place as to counter the popular incorrect pronounciation "Suun", as since then I have seen "ay" being used to describe the pronounciation of...

What algs do I need to learn for 2x2?

Exactly, Typo. Fixed it. Thank you for noticing.

What algs do I need to learn for 2x2?

For 2x2, it is typically advised to learn CLL after Ortega(CLL is sometimes/rarely called EG-0) and then go on to EG-1. What I can't tell you is if normal EG(Solved Bar at the Back) or LEG(Solved Bar at the Left) is better. That depends on which algs flow better with you. Some recommend EG-2...

    mfjs meilong non magnetic square-1

The Core on the Volt V2 can't strip as it comes with a Steel Nylock Nut from Factory. You don't hear as much about it anymore, maybe it's gotten better but they have been prone to breaking Edges.

    Help for square-1

It is the only 7-Slice Cubeshape and therefore the longest, yes. But, it reduces into both Shield-Kite and Shield-Cube, so you learn 2 or the more important cases with it. Hojestly I wouldn't call it the worst, since Bad Fists and some of the 5 and 6 Slicers are way slower and more annoying.

    Help for square-1

For one, learn the Adjacent Edge Parity Alg, you will need it. You likely are pairing all the edges at the start and then do one of two cases to get back into Cubeshape. This step can get heavily shorter with experience, so do a lot of solves, maybe even some Cubeshape only solves. Easy...

Should minimum move counts be removed?

Off-Topic, but I have Signatures disabled, judging by the Profile Posts, @JDAW6 Signature is just 20,000 random characters. Is this correct? If it is, did somebody report it already?

Should minimum move counts be removed?

The only comp wins that matter WITHIN the community are Worlds(and US/Europe Nationals for some) for most events. Competition wins are never used to determine who is the more capable cuber. As for Singles or Averages, you likely have multiple People memorised that held the 3x3 Single World...

A Guinness World Record that we can attempt?

Maybe try to get in contact with those that set this World Record? You guys need to recruit over 500 people, they already have 500 people and they have a willingness to organize such a thing, while I can see nobody in this thread that is willing to organize.

Should minimum move counts be removed?

Having the minimum required move count lowered would add the easiest end of the possible state spectrum, thus making the already easy events objectively even easier.

I know how we can make the cubing community EXPLODE

To be fair, betting on Poker or Blackjack, Swimmers and all the other card games is far less risky and addicting than the current state of sports betting and casinos. TL,DR: I'm not advocating for gambling, not at all. Just saying Card Games at the local bar are far less likely to have you...

I know how we can make the cubing community EXPLODE

I don't think it's even legal to bet money on minors doing sports in large parts of the world.

    Probability Thread

I disagree. The Rubiks Cube had it's biggest spike in popularity in the early 80s where it was THE popular thing to have and booklets about how to do it were cheap. This also means that a silent majority from then never went to a competition and those that did were largely not documented.
