I fully believe that the 2 second barrier will one day be broken. Baring an early rapture or the loss of popularity of what will then be an ancient puzzle from the second millennium AD. Evolution of hardware, methods and people will lead to this eventually.
I highly doubt that the CFOP will...
My favorite mod is a simple 3 colour cube. Using 2 cubes just ensure that opposite faces are the same colour.
You can also use 5 to make a cube similar to the illusion. 2 colours in a checker board pattern on every face. One of the faces is inverted.
In my mind we should look at the first time someone held a world record that has not yet been taken off them (in this streak). Making Bingliang Li's square-1 average the longest standing world record streak. Though perhaps to counter popularity we should instead look at how many times have...
Yes it would be, but it would also be nice if our cubes didn't break on us mid solve.
In my opinion no matter how many pieces are out, as long as there is only one way to reassemble a solvable cube it should either be considered solved or a +2. Yes I am aware for cubes like a 7x7, a large...
Round: 103
Race to Sub-30
Method: CFOP
Result: 47.49
Results: 45.23, 40.22, 48.25, 49.29, 43.88, 49.07, (52.38), 51.31, (37.98), 50.05, 51.06, 51.63
I am happy with that, my worst solves are getting along better.
It looks really interesting. I am definitely thinking about buying it. I would join in a group playing it. I hope that it comes out on Android. I think it would be a good game for a tablet.
In a standard team really everybody has there own cube and doesn't begin solving until the person before them has finished. In team factory a cube (or cubes) are passed around after performing a predetermined about solving. Eg after cross, each individual f2l pair, and oll.
One move team...
Case 1: # stands for the algorithm that you would use to solve that other case. The idea is if you have to flip two adjacent edges, move 1 so they are opposite, flip them, then return the edge to where it belongs.
Case 2: To understand comutators have a look here at our wiki.
Case 3: a 5...
Gday and welcome to speedsolving. While your here check out this thread. If you are working on getting your average under 25 it is a good way to track your progress and have some fun doing it.
Case 1 - just do R' F' # F R where # is how you solve
x x o x x
x x o x x
My alg: R' F' M' U M' U M' U M' U2 M' U M' U M' U M' F R
Case 2 - r B simple comutator B' r'
My alg: r B U' R u R' U R u' R' B' r'
Case 3 is ill defined. Is it a 5 cycle or a 3 cycle and...
It depends how fast you went from not knowing how to blind solve and doing it. Concider taking a step back and just practicing edges and corners separatly. Increase your accuracy on them separately, work on the most problematic then start doing full attempts again.
Having said that 7/50 isn't...
Hi all Sydney siders, I know this is an old topic but I thought it might be time that we try and revive it and get some more cubing things going in our area.
For starters who is going to the UNSW game-a-thon. For those that are unaware it is a charity event held at UNSW featuring a non WCA...
No not at all, some competitions (not many bit some) allow competitors to have multiple attempts at Mbld. For these competitions and only these completions will an official mean be recorded, though in no way effect the results of the competition.
PS
You do raise an interesting thought about...
This reason has come up multiple times but no body has given any reason that gives merit to it. We could always class these (as well as 3bld means) as "non competitive means" and then people can say they are officially ranked in every competitive singles and averages event.
No definitely not (at least under normal conditions, i think it would be kinda cool to hold Mbld comps similar on concept to USA FMC, but that's another story). I mean when multiple attempts of Mbld are held, then even though the winner is the best single score, the mean is also put into the...
I think it is a bit unreasonable for us to demand these videos go up right away (or even at all really). Faz is our World champion and if we have to wait a week or so to see these videos then so be it. What other world champion, multi world record holder would be hounded like this by his fans. I...
I solidly think that 4bld and 5bld means should be recognized. It isn't going to change competition and we already have access to it on the WCA website.
I think the argument but I won't have completed everything is a bit flimsy. I mean tomorrow WCA might announce that the magic egg is now an...
