Is vaseline really a good lubricant?
It's good at destroying your cube, but other than that, no.

A few months, maybe. (Just get 10 cc; costs only a few dollars more and you won't have to worry about when you need a new bottle until at least a year later.)

z-lube is cheaper than maru but is it basically the exact same or is maru definitely better?

What can i do to make my Dayan guhong v1 smooth
Put a bit of lube in it, scramble for a minute or so, and you're set. The Guhong v1 is already inherently very smooth—so smooth that the pieces often just slide out of where they're supposed to be and get all over the floor.

Hello guys, I have recently bought a Gan 356 Air. I've been using it for about a month, but now it's really dry. I need to know a few things, because I have never lubed a cube before, and I don't want to ruin it :/

  1. Do you know what lube GAN applies after the cube has been manufactured?
  2. On TheCubicle there's Gan Standard Lube (it’s a low viscosity lube), do you know how's the feel with it?
  3. Do you know if Gan Standard Lube is recommended to lube the end of the axial (under the GES)?
Thanks a lot. :)

What are some alternative thick/thin lubes when you don't have traxxas or access to retail lubes? Vaseline? I heard that petroleum jelly breaks down the plastic. Something that isn't in one of Cubey Time's "Will It Lube?"

Hey, I have a Gan 356 Air too!

1. Surely Gan Lube :). That is what Gan has, and it's the only lube they use.
If you want to lube your cubes, use Gan Standard Lube...

2. GSL (Gan Standard Lube) is great, I love the feeling of it but it is very hard to open it. The cube will feel like being right out of the box when you lube with it. Make sure to follow the instructions on the Gan pamphlet or on their YouTube Channel.

3. I don't know about this one, maybe someone will answer.

That's for it. Hope it helps! ;)

Thank you very much! :)
I have bought it, it's still shipping.
Also, another question: is it important to disassembly and clean the cube before lubing it?

Nope, it isn't. You should however only when you have used your cube for a long time or it starts to slow down. I have never disassembled my Gan cube because it is worrying. Just cleaning while it being assembled is okay though, but make sure it doesn't pop or break.

I went to a hardware store looking for a spray to lubricate my cube. I saw somewhere-recommended CRC Heavy Duty Silicone spray but on the label it said that it is not recommended on plastics. Store staff recommended "Elmer's E450 Slide-All Dry Spray Lubricant" as it was safe for "most plastics".

Got the spray, sprayed it all inside the cube, and the cube ... froze. turning it literally broke the cube apart, and some cubies effectively got glued to each other. . . Well .. so much for that 'lubricant'. It may as well have been glue.

But .. is there any hope for fixing this cube? How?

The cubies have a residue now not sure how to describe it
