Beginner's Guide to Choosing a Speedsolving Method

Having the cross on the bottom does help with lookahead. You have more unsolved pieces in your field of vision than if you had your cross on top, so it's preferred to do it on the bottom, although try it out with cross on the left too, some people prefer that.

"Edit Post" -> "Go Advanced" not working

The "Go Advanced" when editing a post doesn't work for me, but the option at the quick reply does work as usual though. Chrome 28.0.1500.95 m here too.

You could also just shorten the cylinder where the screw goes until it's short enough, but it may be a hassle to do. Don't think it would damage the puzzle since it doesn't change anything on the outside, and it shouldn't make it more fragile since you don't make anything thinner, just shorter...

What colour is your main speedcube?

White cube with black instead of yellow, works wonders for my recognition.

What the Seven Towns Copyright Covers

Not really, customs doesn't check every package that enters, just because they didn't check your package doesn't mean it would not be affected by this. I don't really see how they would be able to check every package that enters any country, that would require too much resources to pull off.

Normal for the card tiles in magics to go a bit rippled/wavy over time?

Depending on how you're holding the magic, the paper can absorb the sweat (Because of capillary action) from your hands if you're the type of person that sweat from your hands a lot. If you hold it with your fingers, then it's probably no big chance, but if you hold it with the palms contacting...

Remember not to cram them a short time before, make sure they're stuck when you go. I'd focus on the PLLs first and then go ahead with the OLLs (Which I haven't learned yet after 2 years, procrastination at its finest.), but everyone learns differently, good luck!

You shouldn't even bother about that, go to the competition and have fun, skills doesn't really matter, although it would be a plus if you're able to solve it under 10 minutes if you want official times. EDIT: Ninja'd. EDIT2: Your times are great though, I was slower than that when I went to...

Should stickerless cubes be allowed in WCA competition?

Although wouldn't that violate 3h? Specifically the additional information part. (This would probably apply to the supercube-stickering idea someone had a few pages before too.)

Not counting dayan knockoffs, I'd say the FII is really nice if you're not dependent on the corner cutting.

http://www.jaapsch.net/puzzles/square1.htm (Scroll down until you reach Section 1) I almost always do the first case of those, it's not fast nor efficient to first set it up like that and then go from there, but it's an easy way to do it.

I guess he meant S2L, which is Second Two Layers. (If I recall correctly) If it wasn't a typo, then I don't know.
