Anyone know SQL that can help with a WCA Database Query?

You can join to the Competitions table to retrieve the start/end dates of the comp and query using those. The competition year is determined by the end date of the competition I believe. SELECT r.personId, r.personName, MIN(r.average) AS bestAverage, r.CountryId, c.name, c.end_date FROM Results...

solution says doesn't meet WCA rules

Replace f with Fw, l with Lw, etc. Wide moves are allowed but denoting with lower-case letters is not valid WCA notation.

    Disqualified/failed world records

A few cases that come to mind. Singles: Raúl Martínez Redondo 1.00 +2 skewb single at Fuenlabrada Open 2018. WR at the time was 1.10 by Jonatan Kłosko. Rasmus Stub Detlefsen 4.70+2 square 1 single at KMG Spring 2019. WR at the time was 5.00 by Vicenzo Guerino Cecchini - this was beaten by...

How to progress the WCA for everyone's benefit

Maybe cross-post this on the WCA forum? I think this sort of discussion belongs there. This would be ideal, but I disagree that it should be a main focus of the WCA. We have Red Bull for spectator events, and ultimately most people will only actually be interested in seeing the fastest solvers...

Race to Sub x on Clock

Glad to see this thread make a comeback, thanks for continuing! If we continue into future weeks though could you possibly use WCA scrambles please? I probably misscrambled several of these just due to the weird move order. anyway. :p Round 31 Race to sub-6.5 (0/3) Avg of 12: 6.82 Time List...

    Cubing FML

Leeds Open today had the easiest clock scramble ever. Sam Spendla got 3.98, James Molloy got 4.38, and several others got low/mid 5s. I was scrambling at the time and didn't get it - 5.32 first try. As a bonus, also had a near FML of an average where the first 4 solves were 6.85, 8.14, DNF(7.00...

    Goals Thread

Next comp is British Summer Open in a little under 2 weeks, listing goals now as I'll probably forget by then. Originally was down to do all events, but withdrew from almost half as I'm staffing and need the availability. Out of practice for many events, not setting the bar too high. 3x3: PR...

What is the worst/craziest incident that happened to you in a Competition

At a comp last year I was competing in SQ-1, the first two solves were normal but then I thought I had a duplicate scramble for solve 3. Turned out it was the correct scramble and just had the same cubeshape and equator position. I was given E1, and lo and behold it had the same cubeshape again...

    Cubing FML

Had my clock set up as well as it's ever been and finally broke through in comp last weekend with a 7.01 average in round 1 after a couple of weeks averaging the best I ever have at home. Unfortunately, it then fell out of my pocket when I was retrieving my 7x7 from my bag (an event I don't...

    Blindfold Accomplishment Thread

MBLD: 14/17 1:36:46 [1:11:13] First attempt at more than 13 cubes, and second attempt at more than 11. Also first multi attempt since Great British Blind Off in January. DNFs were a flipped edge, a twisted corner, and a messed up Y-perm.

Looks like a CubeStyle Carbon Fiber 3x3 to me. I don't own one however, so can't tell for sure. =P https://www.thecubicle.com/products/cubestyle-carbon-fiber-3x3
