Is the zhanchi 3x3 original plastic?
I don't know. How do you tell that? I can check later this evening. Is the zhanchi 3x3 original plastic?
I'm not really quite sure how to tell if it's old or new plastic. You would have to know when you or someone else bought the cube, or you can also tell by the turning feeling, but that's only if you have another zhanchi to compare it to. If it's softer and smoother, it's the old plastic. I don't know if there's a difference in the screws like there is on the 2x2, but it's worth a shot (if it's a black screw it's probably old plastic.)I don't know. How do you tell that? Edit: if you bought it generally before mid 2012, then it's old plastic
You might be able to message the guy who you bought it from and ask him if he remember when he bought it, or if you have time you could wipe away the vasoline if it hasn't worn down the plastic too much, then compare the two. Also, the screw difference isn't a definite thing, it was just a thought as the 2x2s have a visible screw difference. Thanks.I bought the whole collection in January from somebody else who bought it earlier, but I don't know how much earlier. I have a stickerless Zhanchi that I bought new in 2015 that I could compare it to. I'll check the screws tonight if I think of it, and try to upload a picture that includes them.
Edit: I can't really compare plastic to the stickerless, because I ruined that one with vasoline.
I did a little research, and from what i understand, the newest model of the zhanchi, and the oldest model, have the same color core, which is beige. I think as long as the guy bought it before 2014-early 2015, and if the core is beige, it should be original plastic.Yeah, I'm pretty sure the vasoline has definitely eaten too much of the plastic on my old one to be a good comparison. The screws are bright chrome, the same as my stickerless, and would say the plastic looks pretty smooth too. I've got a couple older dayan cubes: a Lun Hui and a couple of GuHongs. The Zhanchi has a different feel than the others, but it has also clearly been used more and is set at much higher tensions. I suspect it has also been lubed differently. As far as I can tell from looking at the plastic they appear to use the same plastic for all 4 cubes, and all 4 have the same bright chrome screws, but if the difference is feel rather than looks I would have to guess the Zhanchi is different. Here is a picture so you can see the screw and get a better look at the plastic:

Let my know what the buyer says about it, I'll probably just wait until then.I'll message the guy and see if he knows roughly when he bought it. The core is beige, as is the core of my stickerless one from 2015. Looking more closely at them in better light and turning them a little more I'm reasonably certain that the Lun Hui, Guhong V1 and Guhong V2 are of one type of plastic and the Zhanchi is a different, harder plastic. I don't remember for sure if the box that the Zhanchi is in came with it or if it's the box from my stickerless Zhanchi, but the Lun Hui and Guhong boxes are white with colored printing and the Zhanchi box is purple. I think I have it listed for $8. Shipping will run about $3 in the US. If you're in the US I would be happy to send it to you for $10 including shipping, and you might just get lucky and get an OP Zhanchi cheap.
I don't have a master Kilominx, that's one I might be interested in trading for.How much is the SS Master Kilominx? How much is shipping?
Ok, I misunderstood. But how much is shipping for the rest of the cubes you were selling?
Nice collection, why are you sellling it?
