  1. Dutch Nationals 2011

    Saturday, 17 December was the day when it would once and for all, or at least for a year, be settled who is the best speedcuber of the Netherlands. 40 competitors from across the country and beyond, and their entourage, gathered in Zaandam, just north of Amsterdam, to battle for the title of national champion in events ranging from 2x2 - 5x5, including 3x3 OH and blindfolded, as well as something called Magic.

  2. Challenge Accepted!

    So a bit about me first, I started cubing 6 years ago, it took me about 1.5 years of cubing to get my times down to around 45 seconds.
    4.5 years later, I'm still around 45 seconds, although I have seen some progress in the last few weeks.

    The main reason I haven't progressed in the last 4.5 years is because I haven't been actively cubing, but the interest has returned and I've PBed a few times, (around 28 seconds). I found the best way to improve is simply find what is slowing ...

  3. Dutch Open 2011 from a noob's perspective

    Ever since I got into solving Rubik's cubes and later into speedsolving, I have been planning to attend an official WCA competition, as soon as there was one within reasonable travel distance from my place and I would get consistent sub-60 averages.

    So, when the Dutch Open 2011 in Eindhoven was announced and I was averaging in the low 50s, I registered for the competition. Within hours, my registration was confirmed by Ron.
